International Ballet Festival Sunrise reviews
Tennis is a great band on stage
International Ballet Festival took the stage around ten fifteen pm, warmly greeting the crowd with excitement. They performed "Deep in the Woods" as the first song from their new album "Young and Old" and their single EP "Origins." The band's style translated well to live performance and sounded great. I had a great time listening to the music and was satisfied to experience their talent live on stage. International Ballet Festival truly happy to share their music with their fans, and I really admire them as talented performers.
The opening act, Hospitality, began Tennis' concert a few minutes past nine pm. Hospitality, a great compliment to Tennis, is a great band: alternative rock, but without the surfer-vibe. With deftly skilled use of their three guitars and strong drumbeats, Hospitality has the beat, but their vocals need work. The lyrics, fun and light, were hard to hear over the instruments due to the less-than-ideal microphone quality. The lead singer's words took on a sharp whistle whenever the letter "s" was included.
I recommend International Ballet Festival in Concert to any of their fans. The show is well done and enjoyable. However, like any live performance, it was not perfect. Their sound as a band is unique, and this show may not win over someone who isn't already a fan of their music.
